Nigerian police arrested Baba Ijesha on April 2021 after he had slept with the victim since she was seven years old.
On April 20, 2021, he was reported to the police by Princess at Sabo Police Station, and transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba Lagos for a proper investigation.

The incident occurred the previous week when he was going to receive medical treatment in the facility’s clinic. Within the premises, he noticed some inmates running around, so he inquired about what was going on.
Eyewitnesses told him they were seeking to kill a big snake as they were holding sticks, iron rods, and stones, but they couldn’t get close to it.
Then he swiftly grabbed the snake, swerved it vigorously, and slammed it to the ground, causing it to die.
A few inmates expressed admiration for his courage and talked about his ability to kill a snake without using weapons. They then went on to warn him that some of them had already tried but couldn’t kill it because they didn’t have the right kind of strength and might end up getting killed themselves if they tried again. He then told them not to worry since he was confident that he could do what they couldn’t do by themselves.
